Thanks for joining us on this journey of building a consistent habit of reading our Bibles every day. The Bible reading plan we are using this year can be found here: One Year Bible or here on the Bible app. As always, if you miss a day, don’t feel compelled to go back and catch up. Just skip it and start back on today’s date. I am reading the NLT this year, but feel free to use whatever version you prefer. Now here are some thoughts from today’s readings:
Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.
– Joshua 21:45
Your failures are part of God’s plan. Let that sink in. It’s not that He wants you to fail, but that He knows when you will and so He works through those times as part of His plan. But God does not have to allot for His own failures. He doesn’t fail.
What promises has God made to you? If you’re not sure if the Lord has spoken any specific promises to you, read the Bible and see what He promises you through His word. His promises never fail, even when we do. The children of Israel did some dumb things. They were unfaithful many times, yet God remained faithful in spite of them. You can trust God. He always comes through on His promises! Your mistakes don’t disqualify you. When God made these promises, He knew you would sin and fail. He made them anyway. He always holds up His end!
What promises do you need to claim over your life and trust God for? What mistakes have you made that you need to let God of?
