Day 25
Read: 2 Samuel 6:1-23
Key Verses: 2 Sam 6:16
Thoughts: What a chilling verse. Have you ever judged someone based on the way they worshiped or did not worship? Its easy to think that the way someone worships defines who they are spiritually, but this is not always the case. Some people who look very spiritual are just putting on a show or going through a passionate routine, not willing to admit they have lost their passion for God somewhere. Others may look stoic and disinterested in worship, but may actually be making a deep connection to the Lord on the inside. And then there’s always the big question, does the Bible ever teach us that its okay to judge people by what we see on the outside…. I think not.
Who have you been judging? What do you think others would think about you based on the way you worship? Is that who you really are, or just on image you are trying to project?
Quote: “By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Prayer: God, please forgive me for not asking for Your help in worshiping You. Help me to see You as the source, strength, and ability of every action I take, especially in worship. Please lead me into radical, intimate encounters with You this week!
