Day 26
Read: 2 Samuel 6:1-23
Key Verses: 2 Sam 6:23
Thoughts: We will come back to how David responded to this judgement of his worship later. But today, let’s focus on what this judging did to his wife who judged him. Often we think judging someone only effects them. We think that are opinion should hold the same weight with them that it does for us. We throw out our thoughts without ever considering what the cost of those thoughts are. When we judge others based on their worship, it hampers are ability to do what we were created to do. Even more, it hampers are ability to worship God.
You can’t always believe everything you think… especially about others. What thoughts have you been believing about others or even yourself that have hindered you from spiritual growth and hindered your worship?
Quote:
“It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, God’s job to judge and my job to love.” – Billy Graham
Prayer: God, please forgive me for believing lies about other or myself and for allows those lies to begin in my thoughts. Help me to see the good in others, to trust that their motives are pure, and to leave the judging up to You. Please lead me into radical, intimate encounters with You this week!
